Rise and Run

In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.

It is so much easier to resist sin than it is to get rid of sin from our life. So, before the evil one lures us to his dungeon of guilt and shame for our sin, we need to pray as Jesus instructed. However, there will be those times when we step right into sin without so much as a second thought. When this happens we need to know God has prepared for our deliverance.

I used to make excuses for my behaviors, but that did not hold up in front of God. I used to say, “Did you see what they did…? If they hadn’t gone behind my back and done this…or if they hadn’t provoked me then I wouldn’t have done this or said that. It’s really their fault. They started it.” Did any of you have that particular conversation or something similar with God? It was back when He brought another Scripture to my attention.

Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I am incredibly thankful to know You desire Your will to be released here in my life today. I receive Your will. I know You have the very best for me. Your Word tells me so in Romans 12:1 & 2. I will align myself with Your Word. You also desire to teach me of Your ways, give me wisdom and understanding through Your Word. I look to Your Word every day. Forgive me for my sin. I no longer want to be caught in the sins of this world, the lust of the flesh, the pride of life. I want to honor You and lift Your name on high. I release those who have hurt me. They need Your love and peace upon their lives. I pray to be kept from temptation. I pray to be delivered from the evil one. When I can’t get myself together and sin overtakes me I pray You would remind me of Your provision. You made a way for me to rise up and break free. I will confess my sin and run from it. I will be free by the power of blood of Jesus Christ in Jesus’ name amen.

Me First

There is a reason why Jesus told us to pray “and forgive us our debts” first.

It's a Choice

Forgiveness is a choice. You and I have a decision to make. . We can choose to forgive or we can choose to not extend forgiveness.
